This Is My Brain On Altitude...(part 1)

This is me on the summit.....
I made it to the top...and I really did have fun...I wasn't as sick as last time...really.....
We got to Lone Pine around 3:30 on Monday and picked up our passes...then we drove to the Portal and found a space to sleep...then we went to the Portal Store and ordered up some burgers and water to hydrate.....and then we played a few wicked games of YAHTZEE!!
Then the sun was going down so we got into our bags and laughed and laughed and then went to sleep......

...then somewhere around 1:30 the Captain got up to walk to the restrooms....then Daughter #2 followed behind by about a minute. As the Captain passed the common bear lockers, a BIG bear ran from the lockers to the corner of the parking lot....he had been ransacking the lockers that some stupid human left ajar. Seconds later, Daughter # 2 walked by....and he did not move for her...and she made a BIG circle around him...and he was drinking a BIG handle of Seagram's and eating pretzels! The Captain and Daughter #2 both took a different route back to camp....this is what we saw when we headed to the bear lockers in the morning:

...thankfully we shared a locker with some smarter human forms and our food was still in the locker....so we packed up the packs and headed to the Portal Store for a pancake....
....just one.....then we weighed our packs and hit the trail!

WOW, that's some pancake! Cannot believe someone left the bear-proof storage ajar. Kind of defeats the purpose! Looks like you had a great time!

Oh good lord! I would have been hugging the ground before I even started the climb! Good for you. Sounds like a fun trip!

Holy pancakes batman!
Scary about the bear...glad everyone was safe! Poor bear probably had a hangover in the morning.
