Conversation with a crossing guard...

I know the gal who crosses at the major intersection does not speak much English. She says, "Cross," and holds up her sign. I always say, "Thank you," and she says, "You're welcome." Some days I cross east to go to physical therapy and other days I cross north to swim. As I approach, she points to the way she thinks I am going and I reply back with a point....and she presses the respective cross button. That's about the extent of our conversations.

Then this conversation took place today:

Crossing guard: What time is it?
Me: 3:30- What time do you leave?
Her: I "leave" in San Francisco."

The end-
