24 Hours 700 Miles

Last Tuesday, after a long day of teaching and 4 hours of IEP meetings and Remodernizaton meetings. I hit the road. I loaded up the truck and drove across the bridge to Postcard Cindy's....hence the Bunny Room photo in the last post....you were so close Grandma J!

Then Wednesday morning bright and early I drove to Arcata and picked up daughter #2. Her lease was up and she is moving home for summer...then heading to New Zealand....

We had quite the load....I did let her ride inside though....

...after we stuffed all this stuff behind the seat and in every little space possible...it was a long ride home in the rainy, yucky weather....but it was fun to be together.

And remember this guy from last year?

Well he's all grown up ....and he is still the smartest dog I have ever seen...he opens doors with those flip handles all by himself. I am so sad that the little pink spots on his nose disappeared!

FIRE

Yesterday I got some REALLY GOoD NEWS!!! I was so happy riding my bike home...I was dancing up the big hill....we didn't swim because I took too long leaving work talking with a co-worker.....then...I got some really scary news......the kind that makes your toes curl....and you know there had to be a guardian angel lurking...

Daughter #2 called...her car began smoking...she pulled to the side of the freeway while her car filled with smoke...she was trapped inside...the doors and windows were locked and she couldn't get out. She called 911...she put a sweatshirt over her face to breath through...trying not to panic and breath harder....then ..... magically the door locks popped open and she jumped out.

The firetruck arrived and thoroughly doused her little car with water...the outside apparently looks fine...the inside...is a bit melted....and wet- very wet- along with her iPod....but she is safe...very safe and sound....after a policeman dropped her off at the E.R. to make sure she did not have smoke inhalation...and her little black car that she bought when she was 15 made it to the salvage yard.

She was not supposed to take anything affixed to the car...but she begged to take one license plate for her dear old mom's collection...and they let her.
