Last year PUMPKIN DELIGHT posted a link to SKETCHBOOK 2011 a cool project where you buy a book and select a theme...then you do whatever you'd like to your book, return it by the scheduled date, and then it goes on tour. So yesterday the tour was in S.F. Daughter #1 and I took BART to The City and walked through the Mission District to the Madrone Building. It was so cool....
There were so many people we had to wait a while to get in...
The books were shelved by theme and numbered....only the "librarians were allowed in the shelves...
The line to check out books was long...but waiting in line I met another author and we passed around books that were waiting to be returned.
My book was under the theme "BOYS AND GIRLS."
It was so fun to read what people from 94 different countries did in their Sketchbooks. I am sure I am in several other blogs today as people were taking the "author/artists" photos. This is Susan who is an awesome watercolor artist. She had amazing paintings from the Bay Area including many of her late cat Bob.

Her cover was amazing!Because BART only runs every hour on the weekend Daughter #1 and I headed home even though we did not get to see another set of books. BUT the tour is returning to New York next week....LUCKY ME! I will be in New York then so I will have to go by and see the books when it isn't so crowded.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL DADS OUT THERE :o)

What a great experience. I can't wait to see what you post from the NY event.
Oh yay! Good for you! You are so lucky that it came to SF. It's not coming here. :( Still fun anyways. Do you have your 2012 sketchbook yet?
I read somewhere on their site that they are opening a West Coast library soon too - I think in the Bay Area.
That is the coolest thing ever!!!! You are a published author. :)
